Senior Legal Advisor

Job Purpose

We are looking for a lawyer with 4 to 6 years PQE to closely work with the firm's managing partner on the EU law matters.

Qualifications

• Member of the Bar in Belgium (Main List or List E). Belgian law qualification is not mandatory but is a strong plus
• Demonstrable experience in litigation in front of the EU courts
• Good understanding of sanctions required
• Understanding of the EU decision-making processes
• Prior law firm experience is a must

• Outstanding oral and written communication skills in English and ideally in French

Responsibilities

• Assisting clients in their litigation in front of the EU courts / administrative procedures
• Advice on the EU law / Belgian administrative law
• Sanctions legal advice: including writing memoranda relating to sanctions compliance matters
• Interaction with national competent authorities in the EU and with EU institutions
• Monitoring and reporting on international sanctions developments for clients
• Conducting due diligence and background research
